WaterSlide Decal Tutorial

If you have never used Waterslide decals this video tutorial will show you the steps.

All of the decals I use come from Fighting Pirannha Graphics.  Decals are a great way to spice up your minis without the pain of small detail painting.  Sorry for some bad framing during certain parts of the video.  It is kind of hard to work with a camera in front of you.

I hope you enjoy!

  1. Quigs Said,

Hobby Tip : Don’t use Quigs Lyran dice for holding up your crappy marik mechs.

  2. Brian Said,

Ha! I knew you would see that.

It’s the Lyran banner as it was meant to be, underneath a Marik ‘Mech…

  3. Quigs Said,

    Uh-huh. We’ll see.

Quick question, how many heavy guass rifle shells does it take to get to the center of a wraith-pop?

    One.

Was by your house today actually. Was thinking of stopping in but remembered you were in B.

The mechs look pretty good, despite the color selection, which is a testament to your skill, but quick question. You seem to go through alot of effort to use the razor to slice out individual decals, but why not just use a pair of scissors to cut out a row, then cut each decal off the row as you need it? Seems like less work, and less chance of dicking up.

  4. Brian Said,

I use the exacto knife because I feel it gives me a whole lot more control over the cut. The decal itself is fragile and can warp if you cut it too close. Cut it too far away and the decal becomes more difficult to position on the mini.

Good idea though, thanks for the feedback Quigs!
